Business coaching has taught me something… Successful people are rooted in a strong belief system – spiritual belief, belief in themselves, belief in the work they do, and belief in the people around them.
3-5% of business owners earn considerable wealth. Their so-called secret–making a business plan and updating it regularly.
With my business coaching clients, and in my own business, we plan quarterly. We pull out the plan once a quarter, compare what’s been accomplished to the goals we set, consider what internal and external changes have taken place, adjust the plan, and set new quarterly, monthly, and weekly actions and tasks.
How can you create capacity in your business when you’re constantly working in it?
This is probably one of the most important things I coach my business coaching clients on… as the owner, you’ve got to get out in front of the growth curve to focus on the future. How can you see how to create capacity for your company when you’re constantly working in it? I just want to repeat that because of it’s profound truth… How can you see how to create capacity for your company when you’re constantly working in it?
We get lost or sidetracked and can even drown in the day-to-day operations of business ownership. It’s inevitable. But it’s not so dangerous if you’ve got a set of goals and tasks that you can always refer back to, to get back on track, especially if you’re certain that those goals support your long term future.
Like a lot of business owners, you’ve set a lot of goals but, often, they’re not linked to your long term vision for your business. If you haven’t clearly spelled out where you want to be in 1-2-5-10-30 years, how can you set annual goals that will get you there? Sorry for the blatant marketing push here but this’ll make such a big difference to your business profits I just have to.
At my Growth Plan Workshop, we create your Strategic Plan all on 1 page (I use Verne Harnish’s) and then spell out your 12-month goals. We break those down into your weekly goals. This gives you a line-of-sight from weekly tasks to your 10-30 year purpose…AND all on only 2 sheets of paper! My business coaching clients attend this workshop every quarter.
I invite you to join us. The day includes short educational periods, work in small groups, and a nice hot lunch together.
