At Inspire Results Business Coaching, we believe business owners are the building blocks of strong communities. Communities that are home to superior schools, thriving churches, prolific arts, beautiful places to live, work, shop, and play—and where crime, poverty, and health problems are mended.
We’ve been dismayed by the struggle we see so many business owners go through, and we know how to help. Our deepest passion is to help business owners solve their challenges so they can create stronger businesses and, in turn, stronger communities for those who reside in them today and for all who will enjoy them in the future. Kent Fisher, Business Coach
Kent understands the journey of a business owner – from the challenges to the triumphs. Kent is the founder of Greenleaf Landscaping, Inc., a design/build and full-service landscape maintenance firm established in 1989. As its president and owner for over 30 years, Kent participated in all aspects of the daily operations, from design and sales to installation and customer relations. He also purchased a Spring-Green Lawn Care franchise and operated the southern and western territories of a major metropolitan area for 7 years.
Kent’s entrance into the landscape industry came differently than most. Rather than earning a horticulture degree, he earned a degree from Indiana University Kelley School of Business. After his first semester in the undergraduate business program, he was nominated by faculty for admission into the MBA undergraduate honors program. Upon graduation, Kent first pursued a career in transportation sales and service at CF AirFreight in Atlanta, GA. Upon his return to the Midwest, Kent combined his interest in gardens and unique outdoor environments with a strong desire to start and manage his own business. Without a formal education in horticulture and/or landscape design, Kent became a partner in a local landscape company and began the journey of consistently expanding his technical abilities, business skills and knowledge in that industry.
He attributes his business success to the power of knowledge and continuous learning. By regularly attending seminars, touring operations of other landscape companies (Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and Minnesota), developing training rhythms, participating in peer groups and most importantly, investing in a business coach (he hired Inspired Results founder Roger Engelau in 2014), he discovered “best practices” and made life altering improvements in his business and personal life.
During his three-decade span in the landscape industry, he built and led a team of over 30 employees that earned several highly sought-after awards, including, “Garden of Excellence”, “Horticultural Excellence”, “People’s Choice”, “Mayor’s Choice”, “Best Residential Design/Build” and “Best Commercial Design/Build”.
In addition, Kent volunteered on a professional landscape association board and served as the Education Chairperson to structure educational seminars for members. He also volunteered as a Big Brother in the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization, and church missions including a trip to Mexico to build a home for a local family.
In 2019, Kent sold both Greenleaf Landscaping and the Spring-Green Lawn Care franchise to continue his interests in real estate development. Greenleaf and Spring-Green are still in operation today, under separate owners.
As your business coach, Kent truly has a heart for helping fellow business owners. He is passionate about helping improve your business – which in turn positively impacts your employees, your customers, your vendors, your family and the community in which you live.
Outside of work, Kent’s interests include boating, fishing, pickleball and vacations in Destin, Florida with his wife (Jennifer) and daughter (Leslie).
